Here’s a fun fact for this Women’s History Month:
Coatesville, PA’s own Rebecca Lukens is widely recognized as America’s first female industrialist. She assumed control of Brandywine Iron Works and Nail Factory in 1825, which later became Lukens Steel, during a time when women couldn’t open bank accounts in their own names, obtain a loan or vote.
