Exton, PA – June 19, 2020 – The National Association of Development Companies (NADCO) has elected Seedcopa + SeedcoDE’s Sherwood Robbins as the Director of Region 3, covering five states and the District of Columbia.
NADCO is the trade association for SBA Certified Development Companies and other lenders across the nation who deliver the SBA 504 loan program to small businesses. NADCO members elected Robbins in an electronic vote.
As Region 3 Director, Robbins will represent Certified Development Companies across Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, DC. As he grows into the role, he hopes to help shape industry rules and regulations through open communication and exchange of ideas.
“We are pleased to welcome Sherwood Robbins to the Board,” says Rhonda Pointon, President & CEO of NADCO. “With decades in the banking and finance industry, including as managing director of a Certified Development Company, Sherwood’s vast experience is highly valued. I look forward to working with him, with the knowledge that his contributions will be vital to our members and the CDC family.”
Seedcopa + SeedcoDE is a multi-state CDC, serving all of Pennsylvania and Delaware, and has a proud history of supporting small businesses with government backed loans for more than 37 years. Robbins joined the organization in 2007, and as Managing Director he has completed its multi-state expansion, added further federal, state and local loan programs to its offerings and continued to act as a local Lender Service Provider (LSP) to a number of regional bank partners.
Prior to joining Seedcopa + SeedcoDE, Sherwood spent more than 18 years in the banking industry, specializing in commercial banking, retail and investment services. For most of that time, he served as a dedicated government loan lender. He has been involved with NADCO for more than 10 years, including as a frequent conference panelist. He also testified before Congress in 2017, highlighting the SBA 504 loan program to members of the House of Representatives. He will continue to lead Seedcopa + SeedcoDE as he serves NADCO.
“This is a critical time in the evolution of industry rules and regulations, and I am looking forward to representing the perspectives of CDCs, lenders and small business borrowers across the region as these changes develop and unfold,” says Robbins.
