Seedcopa Vice President and Relationship Manager Marie Shires was pleased to be a participating judge in a “shark tank”-like competition for Coatesville’s Business Skills for Success for the Entrepreneur program.
The program featured a nine-week virtual seminar for startup and emerging businesses, culminating in the “shark tank”-like competition where participants pitched their products and businesses to the panel of judges. Shires was among the judges who chose the winner: 14-year-old Reece Turner, President and CEO of Reecies Soaps.
“It is always inspiring to meet the next group of visionary entrepreneurs, and when one of them is an already successful young woman at age 14 – it reinforces the importance of supporting new and growing businesses for generations to come,” said Shires.
Coatesville’s Business Skills for Success for the Entrepreneur program ran throughout the summer in partnership with the Kutztown University Small Business Development Center (SBDC). Among the topics covered were business planning, marketing & sales, zoning codes and opportunity tax zones, social media, web analytics and bookkeeping.
