Pennsylvania SBDC Names Seedcopa’s Marcia McGavisk as 2020 State Star

Marcia McGavisk

Associate State Director for PA Small Business Development Centers, Sonya Smith, has announced that Seedcopa’s Marcia McGavisk is the Pennsylvania SBDC 2020 State Star.

McGavisk has served as Vice President of Operations and Credit Manager at Seedcopa. She also joined the Pennsylvania Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in December of 2018 and serves as Director of Capital Acquisition at Kutztown SBDC. As part of the Pennsylvania SBDC Lead Office, she is responsible for oversight of capital formation goals and training consultants to assess the creditworthiness of borrowers for banks.

“To say I was thrilled, surprised, and humbled to receive this prestigious award would be an understatement,” said McGavisk. “I am thankful to work for this incredible organization. This award belongs to all of us for all the collective work and dedication to serve small businesses.”

To help small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic, McGavisk has co-hosted webinars on the Helpful Guide to Understanding the SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) and Payroll Protection Loan Application process. She also assisted clients in the network of 16 centers across Pennsylvania with managing their information to successfully apply and track expenses for the SBA loan programs to receive loan forgiveness.
