If you’re a DIYer, you go to Home Depot or Lowe’s. But if you’re a major contractor, you go to TB Philly Construction Products, a business with revenue that has grown more than five times over the 17 years that Seedcopa + SeedcoDE has worked with the company.
“This is one of the larger businesses that Seedcopa + SeedcoDE has assisted with financing, and certainly one of the most rewarding, as TB Philly Construction Products went from 25 employees to 113 and counting, providing sustainable wages across our communities,” said Seedcopa + SeedcoDE Managing Director Sherwood Robbins.
TB Philly’s first loan with Seedcopa and lending partner Wells Fargo (at the time Wachovia) was in 2005, utilizing the SBA 504 loan program to purchase TB Philly’s first facility at 48,000+ square feet. The company’s newest facility was purchased in 2020 using a second SBA 504 loan to attain a 40,000-square-foot building located less than half a mile from the first facility. The second location, secured with assistance again from Seedcopa and Wells Fargo, provides the space to fully stock all catalog inventory.
TB Philly was incorporated in 1995 as a seller of sealants and pressure sensitive tape in the concrete/masonry restoration and commercial construction industry. Now it’s one of the largest specialty construction product suppliers in the country, offering a full product catalog as well as architectural and engineering support, contractor support, custom tinting services and custom fabrication services.
“Repeat customers have helped build our business, and you could definitely call us a repeat customer of Seedcopa + SeedcoDE,” said Tom Scamuffa, Vice President of Finance at TB Philly Construction Products.
“Where Are They Now?” is an ongoing series celebrating the people and businesses that Seedcopa + SeedcoDE and its lending partners have assisted with financing over the past 40 years with federal, state and local loan programs including SBA 504 and SBA 7(a).
